Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada
The Government of Canada announced the Innovation Supercluster Initiative (ISI) in Budget 2017 to boost the capacity and growth of various sectors in the Canadian economy. ISI represents a new model for economic development that leverages the strengths of industry, small- and medium-sized businesses, academia and NGO platforms. The Hillbrooke Group developed a strategic communications plan to advance the work of the five superclusters, showcase ISI successes and help to position the initiative within the context of an economic development approach.

Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada
The Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada (OIC) is a leader, both at home and abroad, for the community of individuals and organizations devoted to public access to government information. In recent years, the Hillbrooke Group has delivered a range of communications services including providing strategic counsel, report writing, media relations advice, content development, speech writing, outreach initiative and special event planning.

Canadian Air Transport Security Authority
Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) is a Crown corporation responsible for providing security screening at designated airports across Canada. In 2019, the Government of Canada signaled its intent to transition the organization to a not-for-profit entity that would be subject to federal regulation but managed by representatives from the aviation industry. The goal was to modernize CATSA's governance model and performance standards such as wait-time service levels. The Hillbrooke Group has worked alongside CATSA executives to deliver internal communications plans and content as the vision for a new designated screening authority evolves. While COVID-19 has put the transition on hold, the Hillbrooke Group continues to support CATSA as a communications advisor.

University of Ottawa
The University of Ottawa is the largest bilingual university in the world. The Hillbrooke Group was engaged to complete an audit to determine if the marketing and communications department had the necessary processes and capacity to strengthen and protect the reputation of the university and to support its new strategic vision. Key deliverables included an on-line survey for employees, a SWOT analysis and recommendations on activities and tactics to help change and shape a new communications culture. Additional services provided including developing crisis communications and business continuity plans.

Ottawa Tourism
Responding quickly, accurately and effectively in the event of a crisis is critical to safeguarding an organization's brand, client services and reputation. The Hillbrooke Group developed a crisis communication strategy that encompassed pre-planning, quick response, partner outreach and monitoring activities for Ottawa Tourism. Tourism is a major economic generator for the City of Ottawa and surrounding region. Attracting over 11 million visitors annually, it supports over 30,000 direct jobs and contributes $1.4 billion annually to the local economy.

Export Development Canada
Export Development Canada (EDC) has a comprehensive internal communications program that engages and informs its employees that are based in Ottawa and around the world. The Hillbrooke Group conducted a detailed review of the program and its content, channels and tools via an employee survey, key informant interviews and focus groups, to determine if it was meeting the needs of its 1500 employees. Our deliverable was a report that included recommendations and an action plan to help EDC refocus their internal communications efforts in the short and long term.

Canadian Medical Association
The Hillbrooke Group worked closely with the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) over a number of years providing strategic communications and media relations advice on a range of key issues including the national seniors' strategy, the health accord and wait times.
